Hillsborough County, USA – On March 14, 2026, at 7:25 p.m., a green Toyota sedan driven by 38-year-old Danny Wilson III was stopped near West Waters Avenue and Redbraes Drive after failing to come to a complete stop. Deputies discovered Wilson had an out-of-county warrant for unpaid child support.
When deputies attempted to take him into custody, Wilson sped away, weaving through traffic at high speeds before turning south onto Sheldon Road.
A deputy deployed the Grappler device, which attached to the rear tire and began bringing the vehicle to a stop. Despite this, Wilson attempted to escape further, driving over a grass median near Beacon Lakes Drive in an effort to turn around. Deputies maintained control, fully immobilizing the vehicle and taking Wilson into custody.
Wilson now faces multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, fleeing to elude at high speed, two counts of resisting an officer without violence, possession of cannabis over 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an out-of-county warrant for failure to pay child support.
Thanks to the rapid actions of deputies and the Grappler device, the situation was safely resolved without injury to anyone in the community.
