Breckenridge – Earlier this week, deputies assisted Town of Breckenridge police officers on a vehicular trespass that turned unusual when a bear was found inside a car, according to a deputy from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
“But this time, it was a bear in the car,” the deputy said. The animal was trapped and had caused significant damage, including blowing out all the airbags.
After planning a safe approach, deputies chose to break the rear window to create an escape route. The bear bolted out and got away without harm.
“Lock your doors, everybody. Bear season’s not over yet,” the deputy added, noting the incident ended with the animal “scurried off safe and sound.”
