New York, USA – A dangerous wave of subway surfing incidents has led to 200 rescues by the NYPD since November 2023.

The life-threatening trend, mostly involving teenagers, continues to put lives at risk across the city’s transit system.

“Subway surfing is deadly and dangerous,” officials warned.

The NYPD has turned to drones to help spot individuals riding outside of trains and intervene before tragedy strikes.

Each rescue marked a critical moment, where officers were able to pull someone back from the edge of a fatal decision.

Authorities are urging all riders to avoid this reckless behavior.

“Our message is clear: ride inside and stay alive.”
