Dea Seizes Over 700 Pounds Of Methamphetamine Hidden In Cucumber Shipment In Georgia

Gainesville, USA – On June 30, 2025, DEA agents in Atlanta discovered a large drug shipment concealed inside a tractor-trailer at a warehouse in Gainesville, Georgia.

Agents observed a sedan parked beside the trailer with Andres Jasso, Jr. in the driver’s seat and Rufino Pineda-Perez in the front passenger seat.

Inside the trailer, agents found 20 pallets of boxes labeled as cucumbers. Hidden within these boxes were thousands of individually wrapped packages of methamphetamine.

Jasso, Jr. and Pineda-Perez were reportedly responsible for unloading the shipment and separating the drugs from the cucumbers.

Following their arrest, authorities confirmed that the total amount of methamphetamine seized exceeded 700 pounds.

Jae W. Chung, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Atlanta Division, stated, “This case represents the continued commitment of the DEA to identify and hold accountable those who engage in the distribution of dangerous drugs. Keeping our communities safe is our highest priority.”
