La Nucía, Spain – Agents of the National Police dismantled a criminal group in the town of La Nucía that allegedly specialized in stealing vehicles and fitting their parts onto cars previously damaged in last year’s DANA storm in Valencia.

Three men were arrested as suspected perpetrators of motor vehicle theft, document forgery, and belonging to a criminal organization.

Investigators found that the damaged cars receiving the stolen parts were vehicles written off during the DANA weather event. The group allegedly purchased these flood-affected cars directly from private sellers using cash, focusing on mid- to high-range models of a single brand.
