Illinois, USA – Thick white smoke poured from a blazing cornfield on October 5, 2025, as captured by local resident Mark Anthony Hoffman.

Flames spread quickly through dry stubble under clear blue skies, reaching close to nearby green patches as wind intensified the fire’s advance.

The blaze broke out during hot, windy, and extremely dry weather that fueled its rapid spread near Hoffman’s home, located about half a mile from the burning field.
