Hillsborough County, FL – Following a traffic crash, a Spanish-speaking driver was left with many questions, but a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputy was able to provide clear guidance using real-time translation through his body-worn camera.

The technology allowed the deputy to explain the process, insurance requirements, and next steps, answering every question without confusion or misunderstanding. The interaction ensured the driver fully understood what to do after the incident.

“This technology helps us better serve every member of our community,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Clear communication is essential in law enforcement, and this tool allows our deputies to respond more effectively, safely, and with greater understanding, no matter what language is being spoken.”
