Galveston, Texas, USA – On January 17, 2026, a 40-foot Sea Ray with seven people on board began taking on water near Galveston, prompting a swift response from the U.S. Coast Guard.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Houston was dispatched to assist the vessel. The aircrew deployed a rescue swimmer and provided an additional pump to help with dewatering.
After stabilizing the situation, the vessel was safely escorted into port by Station Galveston personnel.
The coordinated operation highlights the Coast Guard’s readiness and ability to respond to maritime emergencies along the Texas Gulf Coast.
