Coast Guard Medevacs Cruise Ship Passenger Offshore Kauai

Kauai, Hawaii – A 61-year-old passenger was medevaced from the Japan-based cruise ship Pacific World, 92 miles offshore Kauai, after experiencing a serious medical emergency.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point carried out the operation, safely transporting the woman to Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.

She was taken for treatment of septic shock, receiving urgent medical care following the offshore evacuation.
