Roads End Point, Oregon – On July 5, 2025, a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter team from Astoria carried out a dramatic rescue at a cliff near Roads End Point.

Two 14-year-old boys were stranded on the cliff and could not be reached by local fire departments due to the dangerous terrain.

The Coast Guard aircrew responded to the emergency and successfully rescued both boys from the site.
