Isle Royale, Michigan, USA – A U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew rescued an injured man on Lake Superior on September 9, 2025.
The crew responded to the scene near Isle Royale, where the man was suffering a lower body injury.
Dalton Jorgenson, an Aviation Survival Technician 2nd Class, was lowered from the helicopter to assist the injured individual.
After securing the man, the crew hoisted him safely back into the MH-60 Jayhawk, completing the rescue operation successfully.
The mission highlighted the Coast Guard’s swift response and specialized skills in performing aerial rescues under challenging conditions.
