Polcenigo, Italy – On the evening of August 31, 2025, firefighters in Pordenone carried out an unusual rescue to save a trapped kitten.

The young cat, named Cacio, had become stuck inside a pipe along the riverbed running through Polcenigo.

Specialized river rescue personnel descended into the water to retrieve the frightened and chilled kitten.

After the successful operation, Cacio was returned safely to its owner, greeted by grateful meows.
