Cargo Plane Erupts In Flames Near Louisville Airport

Louisville, Kentucky – Video filmed by X user Cole Snyd shows a sequence of images capturing a UPS cargo plane crash near Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport on November 4, 2025, after a catastrophic failure of the left engine during takeoff.

The footage opens with the airport area under a dark, smoky sky, with cars waiting at an intersection and traffic lights visible, marking the closeness to the crash site.

As the recording continues, it shows the moment the aircraft, already engulfed in flames, slams into an industrial zone, sending debris and smoke across the area.

Three crew members died in the crash along with at least ten ground workers, while fifteen people were injured and nine remain missing as recovery efforts move forward.

The NTSB is examining the aircraft’s maintenance records and reports no signs of external interference, as Louisville communities gather for vigils.

The incident involved a McDonnell Douglas MD-11 cargo aircraft, Flight 2976, heading for Honolulu, which slid off the runway and hit nearby structures, triggering a fire that stretched roughly half a mile because of the 38,000 gallons of fuel onboard.
