Minnesota, USA – Sheriff’s deputies in Minnesota rescued a buck that became entangled in a backyard batting cage on February 3, 2026.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a home after the young deer’s antlers became caught in the netting surrounding the cage.

Body camera footage shows one deputy holding the buck still while another used a knife to cut the netting and free the animal.

The deer’s escape was briefly delayed when its back leg became caught, but deputies were able to pull it free from the secondary entanglement.

The buck was successfully released back into the wild.
