Maverick County, Texas, United States – DPS Border Mounted Patrol troopers apprehended a previously deported felon on New Year’s Day after responding to a camera alert on a private ranch.

The Border Mounted Patrol Unit was dispatched just after 10:30 a.m. on January 1, 2026, following a Drawbridge camera activation triggered by a male subject. Troopers located the individual hiding in thick brush on the property.

The man was later identified as Marcio Steven Izaguirre, 41, of Honduras. Investigators discovered he is a previously deported felon with multiple deportations dating back to 2004.

Authorities also confirmed that Izaguirre has an extensive criminal record, including 2008 convictions for furnishing alcohol to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and child molestation in Cobb County, Georgia.

Following his capture by the mounted unit, Izaguirre was referred to Border Patrol.
