Black Bear Emerging From Storm Drain In Colorado Springs Before Climbing Tree

Colorado Springs, United States – Another black bear sighting was reported in the city on Thursday, this time involving a dramatic rescue in the Ivywild neighborhood.

A video shows the bear coming out of a storm drain in Colorado Springs.

According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife Southeast Region, the animal was a male black bear trapped inside the drain.

With assistance from Colorado Springs Public Works, officials unlocked the cover. The bear exited and climbed a nearby tree.

Authorities said bears usually stay in trees until nightfall, when they feel safe enough to leave.
