McGregor, FL – Residents near Shaddelee Lane were startled early on July 17 when a black bear wandered into their neighborhood.

Deputies, working alongside partners from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), tracked the bear closely to ensure safety.

Thanks to the swift efforts of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies and FWC, the bear was safely captured without harm.

No charges were filed—only a lighthearted warning for “excessive cuteness” was given.
