Barricaded Suspect Falls Through Ceiling Into SWAT Custody

Indian River County, Florida – Earlier this week, deputies received an alert from license plate readers about a stolen white Ford F350 heading west on CR 512. The truck, stolen from Osceola County on October 19, 2025, was carrying lumber.

Through surveillance, investigative work, and the Real Time Crime Center, authorities identified suspect Keith Rodgers, born October 14, 1988, after he purchased the lumber at the Sebastian Home Depot using the stolen vehicle.

The stolen truck was later found parked at 443 Melrose Lane. Rodgers was seen unloading the wood but fled into the residence upon spotting law enforcement.

He barricaded himself inside the home and refused to respond to verbal commands. Given his extensive criminal record and past statements threatening a shootout over returning to jail, SWAT and Crisis Negotiators were called in. Authorities believed Rodgers was hiding in the attic.

After several hours, Rodgers fell through the ceiling, landing directly into the arms of SWAT members.

He now faces multiple felony charges from both Indian River and Osceola Counties.
