Alligator Caught Devouring Mangoes Near Everglades During Memorial Weekend

Weston, Florida – An unusual sight stunned locals over Memorial Weekend as an alligator was spotted feasting on fallen mangoes near a canal on the edge of the Everglades.

The event was captured on video by Eric Vilaire, who filmed the reptile calmly enjoying the fruit under a mango tree. According to Vilaire, the gator returned repeatedly throughout the weekend to snack on the ripe mangoes as they dropped from the tree.

Even more surprising, the alligator wasn’t alone. A few ducks joined the reptile by the water’s edge, seemingly unbothered as they all enjoyed the seasonal fruit together.

The rare behavior offered a peaceful glimpse into unexpected interactions between wildlife and nature in South Florida’s unique ecosystem.
