Alligator Brawl With Lawn Chair Ends In Embarrassing Defeat

Fort Myers, Florida – A rogue alligator caused chaos in the Tortuga neighborhood on Friday, May 9, when it wandered from door to door before getting its head stuck in an orange lawn chair.

Residents quickly alerted the Lee County Sheriff’s Office after spotting the gator on a front porch, seemingly picking a fight with the chair.

Doorbell camera footage shows the reptile moving along porches before the bizarre scuffle ended with the chair wrapped around its head.

Deputies arrived and contacted a licensed trapper from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, who helped wrestle the gator into a pickup truck.

The sheriff’s office shared a humorous post about the encounter, writing, “Knock knock! Your visitor is chomping at the bit to come in!!” and later joked, “How’s that for taking a BITE outta crime?”

The alligator was safely secured and removed from the area without injury to residents or responders.
