Aggressive Caiman Rescued From Residential Area And Returned To Lagoon

Tramandaí, Brazil – On 22 March 2026, environmental officers from the 1º Batalhão Ambiental safely captured an aggressive medium-sized caiman that had entered a residential condominium.

Residents reported seeing the alligator moving freely between houses and gardens, causing alarm among locals.

The rescue team used a long snare pole and coordinated handling techniques to restrain the reptile without injury. After securing the caiman, they placed it in a transport container.

The officers then returned the caiman to its natural habitat near a nearby lagoon, ensuring it was safely released back into the wild.
