IDF Exposes And Destroys Major Hezbollah Underground Tunnel Network In Southern Lebanon

Qantara, Southern Lebanon – Body camera footage from Israel Defense Forces Yahalom troops shows soldiers entering and moving through a newly uncovered Hezbollah underground tunnel network in the Qantara area of southern Lebanon.

The video begins at a concealed entrance shaft located in dry, leafy ground cover. From there, troops descend into narrow, reinforced concrete corridors fitted with heavy metal doors, using flashlights to navigate the dark passages.

Inside the tunnel system, multiple underground rooms are shown, including living quarters with mattresses on the floor, blankets, pillows, scattered personal belongings, water tanks, plastic bottles, bags, wiring, and stored equipment intended for extended use. The soldiers move carefully through the dusty infrastructure as they document the site.

The footage was released with a caption announcing the exposure of an underground tunnel network built by Hezbollah in the Qantara area of southern Lebanon, alongside details of two major tunnels totaling approximately 2 kilometers in length. The tunnels were located about 10 kilometers from northern Israeli communities.

According to the announcement, the tunnel system was constructed over more than a decade with Iranian guidance and funding as part of a planned Hezbollah operation targeting the Galilee region.

The tunnels were later destroyed using 450 tons of explosives. The discovery and demolition were described as part of ongoing operations in southern Lebanon targeting Hezbollah infrastructure.
