St. Peters, USA – A handheld video filmed by X user Laura Roodhouse shows a vivid full double rainbow stretching across a dark, stormy sky over a suburban neighborhood.
Recorded from beneath a black umbrella during rainfall, the footage captures wet streets, green trees, houses, and parked cars as the camera slowly pans across the scene. The bright primary rainbow and a fainter secondary arc stand out clearly against the gray clouds left behind by the storm.
Laura Roodhouse said the video was taken at 6:45 PM on April 27, 2026, shortly after severe thunderstorms moved through the St. Louis metropolitan area.
The clip was shared with the caption, “Full Double rainbow,” and was filmed as the region emerged from a period of dangerous weather. Earlier in the day, the area had been under tornado warnings and a moderate risk for severe conditions, including heavy rain, strong winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes.
The clearing skies and remaining moisture created ideal conditions for the striking double rainbow captured in the footage.
