Ohrid, North Macedonia – A serious accident was narrowly avoided on the pedestrian path “Studenchishta” when a paraglider carrying out commercial tourist flights came dangerously close to a mother and child walking along the route.

According to video from the scene, the paraglider flew at very low altitude over the pedestrian area and, at the last moment, avoided striking the mother and child. Immediately afterward, it hit a street lighting pole and damaged it.

The footage also captures the mother’s alarmed scream as she manages to move away just before the potential impact.

Local residents who regularly use the walkway say such incidents pose a serious safety risk. They are calling on responsible institutions to urgently investigate the case.

Authorities are expected to determine whether flight rules were followed and whether the paraglider had proper permits for commercial flights.
