Coast Guard Helicopter Rescues Injured Hiker Along Pacifica Trail In Dramatic Airlift

Pacifica, United States – A Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco helicopter crew carried out a rescue operation for an injured hiker inland of Devil’s Slide Trail in Pacifica, California.

The MH-65 Dolphin helicopter team responded on April 19, 2026, after the hiker was reported injured along the trail area.

A rescue swimmer was lowered from the helicopter to reach the victim on the ground.

The swimmer then assisted in hoisting the injured hiker into the aircraft.

The helicopter transported the man to the Devil’s Slide Trail parking lot.

There, the hiker was handed over to San Mateo County emergency medical services for further care.

The operation involved coordination between the helicopter crew, the rescue swimmer, and ground medical teams at the landing site.
