Bedford Heights, United States – Intense large hail fell heavily across Bedford Heights, a suburb east of Cleveland in Northeast Ohio, during a severe thunderstorm that swept through the region.
The scene, filmed by Chris Baldwin, shows conditions from a sheltered spot near a doorway as the storm rages outside. A concrete ledge and door frame are visible in the foreground while the camera faces a parking lot or street.
Hailstones rapidly cover the asphalt, forming a thick, bouncing layer of white ice mixed with slushy rainwater. In the midground, a silver SUV stands out as it is struck by the heavy precipitation, while other vehicles in red, black, and white are seen farther back, either moving slowly or parked in the worsening conditions.
Visibility drops sharply as fog and mist from the storm create near-whiteout conditions. Power lines, bare trees, and utility poles fade into the background haze.
The severe thunderstorm struck Northeast Ohio on April 15, 2026, producing hail ranging from golf ball size up to two inches in diameter. The system also brought powerful wind gusts reaching 60 to 70 miles per hour.
The storm caused downed trees and power lines, flash flooding, and widespread outages across communities including Bedford Heights and Solon, leaving hundreds of residents without electricity.
