Police Pursuit Ends In Arrest After Suspect Crashes Head-On Into Patrol Vehicle

Cordele, United States – A police pursuit in Cordele ended with an arrest after a suspect allegedly struck a law enforcement vehicle head-on and attempted to flee on foot.

On April 11, 2026, at approximately 11:45 p.m., a Crisp County Sheriff’s Office deputy assisted the Georgia State Patrol during a vehicle chase after a driver failed to stop during a traffic attempt.

The pursuit moved through multiple city streets before officers used a Precision Immobilization Technique maneuver to bring the vehicle to a stop.

After the stop, the driver allegedly accelerated again and deliberately crashed head-on into a Crisp County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle in an attempt to escape.

The suspect, identified as Nickalus Mainor, then exited the vehicle and attempted to run from the scene.

Law enforcement deployed a Taser with assistance from the Georgia State Patrol, and Mainor was taken into custody without further incident.

Authorities stated that the 44-year-old from Byron, Georgia, had active warrants and was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service.

He now faces multiple charges, including fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, two counts of obstructing officers, aggravated assault, felony interference with government property, and several traffic-related violations.
