Wisconsin Dells, United States – A dramatic sky appeared over the Wisconsin Dells area following a tornado warning near Lake Delton.
Video filmed by the sister of X user Ali shows striking mammatus clouds illuminated in deep orange and golden tones against the dusk sky. The handheld footage moves across the scene, revealing the distinct pouch-like cloud formations hanging from the base of the storm.
In the foreground, resort-style buildings with green roofs and balconies can be seen, along with trees, streetlights, signs, and nearby roads beneath the glowing clouds.
The post states: “My sister in the Wisconsin Dells right now after a tornado warning over lake Delton. Beautiful mammatus clouds”.
The footage comes from a severe weather outbreak that hit south-central Wisconsin on April 14-15, 2026. During the storms, multiple tornado warnings were issued, including one covering Lake Delton, Wisconsin Dells, and surrounding areas.
The storms were capable of producing tornadoes, damaging winds up to 70 mph, large hail, and heavy rain. Mammatus clouds such as these often form after intense thunderstorms as the system begins to weaken.
