Police Track Down Escaped Zebra After Second Breakout In Four Days

Placer County, United States – A zebra named Zeus escaped from his owner’s property in the Lincoln area of Northern California for the second time in just a few days.

Placer County Animal Services reported that Zeus, a legally owned zebra, broke free from his Lincoln-area home on Monday and was later found safely on a road just north of Lincoln the same day.

The California Highway Patrol’s Auburn office confirmed that the striped animal was located along West Wise Road and returned to its owner.

Zeus had also escaped earlier on Friday during stormy weather. He was taken in by animal services overnight before being returned home on Saturday.

Officials suggested that the repeated escapes may be linked to the animal still adjusting to his recent arrival at the new home.
