Police Capture Loose Texas Longhorn After Escape In Barry County

Barry County, United States – Video filmed by X user Michigan State Police Fifth District shows Michigan State Police troopers from the Wayland Post assisting in the capture of a loose Texas Longhorn cow in Barry County.

The footage shows police officers working together with the animal’s owner to bring the large horned cow under control after it had escaped. Troopers can be seen moving around the animal, guiding it carefully, and helping secure it.

According to the post, the situation is one of several unusual animal-related incidents handled by MSP Wayland troopers, including injured owls, galloping horses, and wallabies.

The Texas Longhorn was successfully restrained with the help of its owner, and no harm was reported. The post was shared on April 13, 2026, referring to an incident that took place the previous Wednesday, April 8.
