Tractors Fill Dublin Streets As Fuel Protest Gathers Momentum

Dublin, Ireland – Video filmed by X user 420 Audits Ireland shows dozens of tractors slowly gathering and lining up on O’Connell Street in central Dublin on the morning of April 7, 2026.

The handheld footage, recorded at approximately 11:49 a.m., shows large green and yellow agricultural tractors with oversized rear wheels moving along tram tracks and the road, with some displaying Irish flags. The camera pans across the expanding convoy as more vehicles take position along the wide city-centre street in front of historic buildings.

The gathering formed part of a nationwide fuel protest organised by local activists and farmers in response to rising prices of diesel, petrol, and home heating oil, linked to the ongoing war in the Middle East.

The protest led to major traffic disruption across Ireland, as multiple slow-moving convoys made their way toward Dublin. O’Connell Street became a central meeting point, with tractors and lorries parking and speeches scheduled for later in the day.

The poster described it as: “O connell street dublin. Fuel Protests. 11.49 . The tractors are gathering”.
