Powerful EF2 Tornado Strikes Near Delavan, Illinois

Delavan, Illinois – On the evening of April 3, 2026, a large tornado touched down near Delavan, moving across open farm fields.

Video filmed by X user John shows a thick, rotating funnel cloud close to the ground, with a large agricultural building and silos visible under dark, stormy skies. The tornado appeared strong and well-defined throughout its path.

The tornado was rated EF2 with estimated winds of 120–130 mph. It caused significant damage to farm buildings, grain bins, and trees in the area.

Despite the destruction, no injuries were reported.
