Valencia, Spain – Firefighters carried out a challenging nighttime rescue after a man suffered a serious abdominal injury in the mountains on April 3, 2026.
The man had fallen and impaled himself on a sickle, sustaining a severe wound to his abdomen. Emergency teams, including the Requena sergeant, volunteer firefighters, and a forest unit from GVA, worked carefully to stabilize him.
The footage shows rescuers transporting the man on a stretcher across difficult, uneven terrain. They navigated a river with water reaching up to their legs, moving slowly but steadily to maintain control and ensure the patient’s safety.
