Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah – On the afternoon of April 2, 2026, a Utah Transit Authority (UTA) bus slid off the icy SR‑210 roadway at milepost 5.9 in the Upper Vault area.
Footage from a passing vehicle shows the white-and-blue CS2 “Up Alta” bus angled awkwardly on snow- and slush-covered pavement, its front wheels near the guardrail. Heavy snow coated the bus, trees, and mountainsides as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Utah Department of Transportation responded promptly. The bus was safely moved, both lanes were reopened shortly after, and no injuries were reported.
Authorities ensured that traffic delays were minimized for skiers and residents traveling to Alta and Snowbird.
