Bridge Collapse In Southern Italy After Violent Storm Hits Coastal Highway

Termoli, Italy – A partial collapse of a bridge on the SS16 coastal highway near Montenero di Bisaccia (CB) has struck the area following days of severe weather.

The incident occurred during an intense wave of bad weather affecting central and southern regions over the past three days, during which firefighters carried out more than 1,400 interventions.

Footage from the scene shows standard crews, divers, and water rescue personnel present at the collapsed structure as operations continue in the affected area.

Across the impacted regions, 656 interventions were recorded in Abruzzo, 476 in Puglia, and 299 in Molise. A total of 625 firefighters are currently deployed, supported by 208 vehicles, including special units, motor pumps, and amphibious equipment.
