Planeta Rica, Colombia – During routine road control from San Jorge to Montería, the National Police uncovered a major case of illegal wildlife trafficking.
Officers found several reptiles and turtles being transported without the required permits, hidden in sacks under conditions that endangered their survival.
Investigation revealed that two caimans had been killed and were being moved in pieces, demonstrating the severe impact of such trafficking on local ecosystems and species preservation.
The arrested individual is reportedly linked to illegal wildlife trade, a practice that disrupts natural balances and threatens Colombia’s environmental wealth.
Authorities emphasized that they will continue deploying road checkpoints and urge citizens to report any threats to biodiversity through the emergency hotline 123.
