Guardia Civil Seizes 5 Tons Of Hashish After High-Risk Chase

Golfo de Cádiz, Spain – Guardia Civil officers intercepted a vessel carrying hashish off the coast of Huelva, resulting in a dramatic high-risk pursuit on the water.

The aerial service first detected the boat loaded with bales, prompting Maritime Service patrols to respond. Upon locating the vessel, the crew attempted to flee, performing dangerous evasive maneuvers that threatened the safety of the agents.

During the chase, one crew member fell into the water and was rescued by a patrol boat. Due to the extreme risk, officers fired warning shots into the air and later aimed at non-vital areas to secure the scene. The pilot of the narco-boat sustained a leg injury during the incident.

Authorities confiscated 123 bales of hashish, totaling 4,920 kilograms, and arrested four individuals on charges related to public health crimes. The operation demonstrates the continued vigilance of Spanish law enforcement against narcotics trafficking in the Gulf of Cádiz.
