Jurupa Valley, United States – On Monday, March 16, four cats were rescued from a fire-damaged apartment during what responders called the Emma Incident. Three of the animals were found unconscious and not breathing when crews arrived.
Firefighters quickly carried the cats outside and began administering rescue breathing. A Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy and additional fire personnel joined the effort. Three oxygen tanks were used as teams worked tirelessly to revive the animals.
After several tense minutes, the cats began to regain consciousness and were soon walking around on their own. The coordinated efforts of firefighters and law enforcement ensured that all four survived.
Officials praised the teamwork and determination of the responders, noting that their actions saved lives—no matter how small.
