Irvine, California – Lucy, a cat, spent nearly ten hours trapped inside an exhaust vent in a parking structure this past weekend.

OCFA firefighters, in coordination with Irvine Police Department Animal Services, carefully worked to free her. Firefighters cut away part of the metal grate using hand tools to avoid frightening Lucy further into the vent.

After hours of delicate effort, Lucy was finally returned safely to her relieved family, unharmed.
