K9 Mako Tracks Suspect Hiding As Trash Bag

Indian River County, United States – K9 Mako successfully located and apprehended a suspect who attempted to hide by pretending to be a trash bag. The 21-year-old suspect, Omarion Hodges, was wanted on multiple drug charges and had fled on foot before being captured.

The arrest was carried out by the Special Investigations Unit, with K9 Mako leading the search and ensuring Hodges was taken into custody safely.

K9s like Mako and Sunny play vital roles in law enforcement, from locating missing persons and pursuing criminals to providing comfort for students in schools. These highly trained dogs continue to support sheriff’s offices across Florida in numerous capacities.

The Florida Sheriffs Association is currently hosting K9 March Madness, where citizens can vote to support their favorite K9 officers, including K9 Sunny representing the IRCSO.
