Massive Shelf Cloud Rolls Over State College Pennsylvania Amid Storm Threat

State College, United States – Video recorded by X user Jaiden Meyer shows a massive, dark shelf cloud rapidly advancing from the north near State College, Pennsylvania.

The low-hanging, turbulent wedge-shaped formation moves with a distinct rolling motion along its leading edge, stretching wide over rural fields, power lines, utility poles, single-story homes, and distant hills under dim, stormy lighting.

The footage, captured from a grassy roadside with a red Nissan pickup truck in the foreground, tilts upward and pans slightly to follow the ominous cloud as it approaches. The truck’s driver’s door is open and headlights are on.

The recording was posted on March 22, 2026, during a day with strong to severe thunderstorm potential across central Pennsylvania.

The post describing the event stated: “Huge shelf rolling in north of state college!”
