Iranian Missile Fragments Hit The Most Religious Place In The World

Jerusalem, Israel – Israeli Home Front Command teams, including active-duty and reserve soldiers, responded urgently to debris from an intercepted Iranian missile that fell in the Old City near the Temple Mount on March 20, 2026.

The fragments, reportedly from a missile carrying cluster munitions, caused localized damage and minor panic shortly before Shabbat, but no serious injuries were reported. Rescue and relief personnel methodically cleared rubble from narrow stone alleyways in the Jewish Quarter, coordinated with emergency vehicles, and secured the area around historic sites.

The Jerusalem Old City is home to some of the most sacred landmarks in the world, including the Western Wall, Al-Aqsa Mosque, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Temple Mount / Haram al-Sharif. The footage highlights the organized response amid evening lighting and historic buildings.

Authorities urged the public to continue following Home Front Command instructions for safety. The poster described it as: “Home Front Command teams are operating at the site of debris in Jerusalem’s Old City near the Temple Mount. The command urges the public to continue following instructions that save lives and act accordingly when alerts are received.”
