Dramatic Rainy Landings As Three Aircraft Smash Through Flooded Runway At Rochester Airport

Rochester, United States – Footage filmed by Joseph Frascati shows three consecutive aircraft arrivals at Rochester International Airport on March 20, 2026, during heavy and persistent rain, as planes landed on a runway covered in standing water.

A Southwest Airlines jet, followed by an Allegiant Air aircraft and then a Delta plane, touched down one after another in quick succession. Each landing produced massive sprays of water as the wheels cut through deep puddles on the flooded surface.

As the aircraft rolled out, large plumes of water were thrown forcefully upward and outward from the landing gear. The sprays formed high, arcing sheets that stood out against the gray, rain-filled surroundings and the bright liveries of the planes.

All three landings were captured from the same ground position near the runway, highlighting the continuous downpour and the waterlogged conditions. The sequence showed repeated bursts of water being displaced dramatically with each arrival.

The conditions demonstrated the challenging weather faced by pilots at the airport that day, with no issues reported beyond the striking water effects. The poster described the landings as “outstanding” during lunchtime spotting.
