Vercelli, Italy – A hiker was rescued this afternoon in a rugged area above Scopello, at 1,200 meters altitude.

The man had lost the trail while trying to return and slipped, ending up on a steep slope near a gully.

Emergency helicopter operations were deployed to locate and extract him safely.

The rescue took place on Friday, April 11, 2025, in challenging terrain.
