Madrid, Spain – Eight women have been rescued after being coerced into prostitution, including being forced to serve minors, authorities confirmed.
The women were confined in overcrowded basement rooms of a house in the Ciudad Lineal district, with barred windows and minimal ventilation. The criminal organization threatened them with fines, clearly displayed on a whiteboard and posters, to enforce strict control.
Investigations revealed that the women were required to provide sexual services 24 hours a day, under continuous supervision, with only one day off per week. They were also forced to carry narcotics for clients and were not permitted to refuse any activity. Some victims had been confined without access to their documents, making escape impossible.
The criminal operation was run through a website that advertised the women and their services, while offering fraudulent contracts to increase their vulnerability. Among the clients were minors, and the organization knowingly compelled the women to serve them.
Police executed a search warrant in February, seizing cash, phones, documents, and cocaine. Six people, including the ringleaders, have been arrested and are facing charges for crimes including membership in a criminal organization, prostitution, drug trafficking, and corruption of minors. The suspects were immediately imprisoned by judicial order.
Authorities emphasize the ongoing need to protect vulnerable women and prevent criminal exploitation.
