Arabian Sea – A KC‑135 Stratotanker “KANSAS COYOTES” conducted a nighttime aerial refueling of a B‑1B Lancer bomber, filmed from the boom operator’s perspective. The refueling boom connected to the bomber’s receptacle under a dark, starry sky.
As the connection was made, the bomber’s four engines ignited in sequence, producing intense orange flames and trailing exhaust plumes. The footage highlights the precise coordination between tanker and bomber during extended long-range missions.
Captured in low-light conditions, the video shows how in-flight refueling allows the B‑1B to sustain nonstop missions deep inside Iran, supporting strikes without stopping.
Released on March 15, 2026, during Operation Epic Fury, the clip demonstrates the extended operational reach provided by the 190th Air Refueling Wing of the Kansas Air National Guard. These missions often exceed 30 hours in duration.
A spokesperson said, “B‑1B Lancers – capable of carrying a payload of 75,000 pounds – have operated over the Middle East in support of Operation Epic Fury. Nicknamed the BONE, B‑1Bs hold world records for speed, payload and range.”
