Villa Santa Lucia, Frosinone, Italy – Vigili del Fuoco documented a nighttime rescue in a residential courtyard in Villa Santa Lucia, Frosinone, on March 13, 2026, where a small dog named Teddy was trapped in a water drainage conduit.
Uniformed firefighters wearing red jackets and helmets used a red excavator with a hydraulic breaker to smash through asphalt and concrete under bright floodlights. The operation created a deep hole amid scattered debris and parked vehicles as onlookers watched from the perimeter.
Rescuers then focused on the narrow underground drainage pipe. Flashlights illuminated the confined space, revealing Teddy, a small white-and-black dog, looking distressed with wide eyes and dirt-covered fur. Firefighters carefully extended tools and hands to coax and extract him safely.
Once freed, the shivering pup was lifted out, wrapped in a blanket, and comforted by the team. The operation marked the successful end to a complex intervention involving specialized USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) units from the Lazio region.
The rescue followed an eight-hour effort prompted by Teddy’s entrapment, demonstrating the persistence and expertise of firefighters in animal rescue operations. The team ensured the dog was unharmed throughout the process.
