Middle East – U.S. Central Command released footage on March 10, 2026, showing precision airstrikes targeting Iranian naval vessels in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Gulf of Oman.
The black-and-white infrared clips depict overhead views of small boats near shorelines and in open waters. Incoming munitions strike with bright flashes, producing massive plumes of smoke and fire as vessels are engulfed in explosions. Secondary detonations illuminate surrounding waters while remnants of ships sink or burn.
The video highlights multiple separate strikes on fast attack craft and similar Iranian assets. U.S. forces report that 17 vessels, including a submarine with hull damage, were destroyed, contributing to a claimed absence of operational Iranian ships in the region after nearly 2,000 targets were struck in under 100 hours.
This follows earlier reports of more than 30 Iranian ships sunk since late February, including drone carriers and corvettes. Officials say the operations are part of an intensified campaign to secure international shipping lanes and degrade Iran’s ability to threaten regional and global maritime security.
The poster described it as “U.S. forces are degrading the Iranian regime’s ability to project power at sea and harass international shipping. For years, Iranian forces have threatened freedom of navigation in waters essential to American, regional and global security and prosperity.”
