Doha, Qatar – Video filmed by X user Shaheen Haroon captured dramatic scenes from the 42nd floor of the JW Marriott Marquis City Center in Doha around 12:30 p.m. local time on March 5, 2026, showing several explosions in the sky as Qatari air defenses intercepted Iranian missiles during retaliatory strikes against U.S. interests in the Gulf.

The first clip begins with a wide view of Doha’s skyline, with high-rise buildings, green parks, and the Persian Gulf visible under bright sunshine. Moments later, a sudden flash streaks across the sky, followed by a large explosion high above the city. A cloud of white and gray smoke rapidly expands outward, while the shockwave ripples through the air and fragments slowly fall as another interception occurs seconds later.

As the camera moves unsteadily across the skyline from the hotel balcony, more flashes appear in quick succession. At least three additional explosions can be seen across the horizon, each producing expanding smoke clouds drifting over the city. Authorities said Qatari air defenses intercepted 13 Iranian ballistic missiles and four drones launched in retaliation for U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iranian leadership. One missile fell harmlessly in territorial waters, and there were no casualties or major damage reported in the capital, although air raid sirens briefly prompted precautionary measures before normal activity resumed.
