Utah, United States – Snow is forecast to continue impacting mountain travel along SR-190 and SR-210, with changing road conditions and traction requirements in effect.
Through 6 p.m. on March 5, snowfall is expected throughout the day, bringing between 3 and 5 inches to canyon areas and about 1 inch to bench routes by 10 a.m.
Snow showers are forecast to continue overnight through 6 a.m. on March 6, adding another 1 to 3 inches of snow on roads near the resorts.
Road conditions on SR-190 vary by elevation. Lower sections are reported as wet, while mid and upper portions are covered with slush and light snow. Slushy conditions begin around S Curve at milepost 6.5, where drivers are advised to use caution and watch for slick spots.
Traction devices are required for travel. Road crews are active in the area, and delays may occur during the morning, particularly for routes leading to Solitude Mountain Resort and Brighton Resort.
Travelers using SR-210 are advised that vehicles must be properly prepared and drivers must have strong winter driving skills when traveling to or from Snowbird, Alta, and Alta Central. Those without appropriate vehicles or experience are encouraged to carpool with someone who does or take the UTA ski bus.
